WeWork-ing on 200k SF of ATL Space?

The latest player in the shared office environment game could be much larger than previously expected. Sources tell us that WeWork, which has been eyeing an entry into Atlanta for the better part of a year now, is seeking more than 200k SF in prime Atlanta office space—in 50k SF to 60k SF chunks. The firm—which raised over $350M last year to create a market cap value that could surpass $6B under the leadership of co-founders Miguel McKelvey and Adam Neumann—has previously explored establishing office suites at Terminus 100 and Ponce City Market. But in its latest hunt in Atlanta, WeWork has tapped Cushman & Wakefield locally for its search, sources say. WeWork—which is entering a crowding field of office space providers for entrepreneurs, tech and marketing startups and small exec staffs with Industrious, DeskHub and Roam all established here—has focused much of its search in Buckhead and Midtown.
