A recent spinoff of a food and facilities service giant is securing a major office at a new mixed-use project in Roswell.

Atlanta-based Vestis, the second-largest supplier of workplace uniforms and supplies, leased 45K SF at Southern Post, according to sources familiar with the deal. Southern Post is a more than 4-acre mixed-use campus with 90K SF of office and 40K SF of retail off Alpharetta Street in Downtown Roswell.

The deal has largely occurred quietly. Southern Post’s owner, Armada Hoffler, announced the 45K SF deal on Feb. 2 but didn't identify the tenant.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle also reported on the Vestis lease, citing anonymous sources.

Calls to Vestis weren't returned as of press time. Transwestern Senior Managing Director Chip Roach, whose firm leases the office space at Southern Post, declined to comment. Armada Hoffler identified Cushman & Wakefield Executive Director Clinton McKellar and Director Sydney Mayson as the representatives for the unnamed company in the press release, but McKellar didn't return calls seeking comment.

Transwestern Senior Managing Directors Zach Wooten and Stephen Clifton brokered the deal for Armada Hoffler, according to the press release.

Now an independent publicly traded company, Vestis spun off from Aramark in October to form a firm with 20,000 employees in North America and more than 300,000 customer locations. The company provides uniforms and workwear, floor mats, towels, aprons, linen services and supplies for restrooms, first aid and safety.

What Vestis is using the office for remains unclear. Since the spinoff, Vestis has been headquartered at Colonial Center at Mansell Overlook 500, a 163K SF mid-rise office building in the Mansell Overlook office park in Roswell.

A representative with the owner of Mansell Overlook, PPF Real Estate Holding, didn't reply to an email seeking comment as of press time.

Vestis has an extensive real estate footprint. The company owns 162 buildings in the U.S. and 29 in Canada and leases 176 facilities, including offices, laundry and manufacturing plants, and distribution centers, according to Vestis’ annual report.

The Southern Post project also includes 128 luxury apartment units, with the Chandler Residences slated to open this year. In December, CA South inked a 7,400 SF lease for its headquarters at Southern Post, moving from The Battery, home of the Atlanta Braves.
