Fate of Stanley Black & Decker Kennesaw Ops TBD in May

Placeholder

Stanley Black & Decker's planned Kennesaw operations are now up in the air after a deadlocked county commission vote. The Cobb County Board of Commissioners tied 2-2 on a vote to allow BK Properties to develop a 135k SF warehouse and a 70k SF office building on a 30-acre site off Chastain Meadows Parkway and Bells Ferry Road in Cobb. While commissioners did not identify what they called a Fortune 500 company, sources tell us the tenant is the tool manufacturing giant's Stanley division, which could bring over 250 jobs to the area. According to the Marietta Daily Journal, the deciding vote will come now on May 19 from commission chairman Tim Lee, who abstained from the initial tied vote. Stanley Black & Decker is being repped by DTZ's Tim Farley, who did not return calls seeking comment. [MDJ]
