Cobb Spec Alert

Atlanta Industrial

IDI filed plans with the state to develop a $13M, 576k SF distribution center off Thornton Road, just near the border of Douglasville. (We were snooping around the state's files as an audition for the newly announced Bond movie.)

Specifically, the Atlanta-based industrial developer filed development of regional impact plans. We spoke with IDI's Gary Minor, and he confirmed the company may go spec. We hope the tenant ends up being Sherwin Williams, since we have to replace all the yellow paint we used on this photo.

This echoes what IDI's Jay Mitchell (right, with Greg Ryan) told us at last month's NAIOP Night at the St. Regis Hotel. This comes at a time when, not only are big box spaces dwindling in metro Atlanta, but there are a number of very big tenants in the market, such as Green Mountain Coffee that we reported here. The property is owned by Greenville-based RealtiCorp.
