Sandy Springs DRI Application for City Center

Atlanta

The City of Sandy Springs is asking regional planners for the green light to move forward on its planned downtown project. The city filed a development of regional impact request for its City Center project. In filings with the Georgia Department of Community Development, city officials say they are aiming to "create a unique, vibrant, walkable City Center," with such amenities as office space, retail, restaurants, condos and townhomes in an area bounded by Roswell and Johnson Ferry roads, Sandy Springs Circle and Mount Vernon Highway. But the city also is getting to specifics in its filing: It's looking to develop nearly 87k SF of office space, a 26k SF "Black Box Theater," 20k SF of meeting space and a performing arts center.
