WHERE FOREIGN MONEY GOES
Association Foreign Real Estate Investors AFIRE James Fetgatter survey 2011
America is going to be the top destination for foreign real estate investors. That's the finding of this year's Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) survey. More than 60% of respondants say the US will provide the best opportunities for real estate in the coming year—the highest percentage to say so since the survey began in 1990. But when it comes to where in the US, DC and NYC are the best bets. Atlanta ranked toward the bottom, with fewer than 5% saying our fair city provided the best investment opportunity for foreign investors. "[Investors] are not scattering their interest throughout the US but rather narrowly targeting it to

New York and DC to an even greater extent than in previous years," says AFIRE's James Fetgatter, pictured here at a recent speech.
