WHAT SAYKALY SAYS
Gary Saykaly cushman wakefield southeast capital markets group retail investments pension life companies core assets grocery-anchored
We interrupted Gary Saykaly during one of his first weeks as the newly named senior director of Cushman & Wakefield's Southeast capital markets group. Gary tells us the demand for retail investments has been ?growing at a very significant pace,? especially for core deals. ?There's just tons of core money,? Gary says, with grocery-anchored being the particular hot spot. With everything from non-traded REITs to pension funds and life companies needing to spend money, prices in core have jumped, forcing some to actually look at secondary markets for retail investments, a trend Gary says will continue. And banks are more willing now to get assets off their books, increasing a supply of retail properties for sale.
