An intriguing story is unfolding inside Southern Progress? offices on Peachtree in south Buckhead. But don't look for it in Southern Livingor any another Southern Progress magazine. This one centers on the 21-year-old office condo at 1760 Peachtree, which Cushman & Wakefield's Dean McNaughton just listed for sale at $2.95M. Time Inc, the owner of Southern Progress, also owns the building. The 15k SF, valued at $1.73M, has ?a great location, great visibility and is in good shape; it shows really well,? McNaughton said.

The listing—and the fact that the Southern Progress team has moved out of the building and into other Time Inc. space in Atlanta—increases speculation that Time is folding the subsidiary into its publishing empire. Last week, media in Southern Progress? hometown of Birmingham wondered whether just that because Time has been cutting operations and started directing Web surfers seeking Southern Progress to its own Web site. However, Time spokeswoman Jennifer Zawadzinski calls the rumors "completely unfounded...Southern Progress Corporation is still very much in existence." In the meantime, we snapped these mags today at the bookstore directly across the street from the building. Turns out, there are plenty of good stories inside the Southern Living to read too!
