SIGNS POINT TO SOMETHING NEW
171 17th St. at Atlantic Station

In the early morning hours on Sept. 18, Wachovia removed its 11-ton sign from atop 171 17th St.  at Atlantic Station. It's in preparation for a new Wells Fargo  sign to afix to the first office tower in Atlanta's mini-city. We snapped this of the now naked office tower. (Come and get us FCC.) Wells Fargo spokesman Jay Lawrence tells us the new red-and-gold moniker will be installed in October, using a helicopter and a six-man installation crew. Once erected, it will be the largest Wells Fargo sign anywhere in the country, Jay says.
