Grubb Ellis Greg O'Brien LEED energy conservation Bisnow Sustainability Summit
When the next wave of commercial development starts, you better believe it's gonna be green. That's the message from Greg O'Brien, head of Grubb & Ellis' Clean Energy Practice Group in the Southeast. Greg will share his insights as a panelist in Bisnow's upcoming Sustainability Summit on Dec. 14 at the Westin Buckhead, with such notable speakers as Carter's Jonathon Barge, Cousins Properties' Chuck Winstead, and the GSA's Brian Kimsey. Atlanta real estate developers—and even many tenants—have spent the better part of the last cycle becoming familiar with green initiatives, especially under the auspices of USGBC's LEED certification program. In the next development cycle, LEED practices will be done but the emphasis will be energy conservation. ?Where the value is going to be created in real estate is going to be carbon emissions,? Greg says. Developers will also have to address  infrastructure issues including incorporating parking for electric vehicles, Greg predicts. Stop by next Tuesday for a full morning of insight (and schmoozing). Sign up now!
