HOME PRICES DECLINE AGAIN
HOME PRICES DECLINE AGAIN

Is your house worth less than a year ago? Statistically speaking, probably so if you live in Atlanta. (Maybe we shouldn?t tell the owners of this Buckhead home, where we snapped this sign this morning.) The good news is Standard & Poor?s latest numbers show that for a 20-city composite, home prices were up in February, compared to February 2009. The bad news is 11 of the 20 cities saw declines—and Atlanta is one of them. Atlanta's home prices were down .9% in February, compared to the year before. To put these numbers in a broader context, the report says that as of February 2010, average home prices across the US are at similar levels to where they were in late summer/early autumn 2003. Ouch!
