We also chatted with Choate Construction's founder  Millard Choate(seen here at a recent Bisnow function with Medical Development Corp's Winston Porter) who says that student housing overall is starting to cool off. With  state budgets being trimmed, university budgets have less room to  expand housing projects. Millard says one project was ?canceled at the 11th hour? due to budgetary cutbacks at an unnamed university. Even the private sector is feeling the pinch. ?The private sector is hampered by lack of conventional financing,? Millard says. Choate is currently finishing work on the third phase of new student housing at North Georgia College (Go Saints). You can hear more about Millard's outlook and Choate's pipeline this Thursday at our Atlanta Housing Summit (remember, tickets still available as of now here) where he will be among our panelists which includes Place Properties' CEO Cecil Philips, The Preiss Co's CEO Donna Preiss, Georgia Tech Department of Housing's Michael Black, and Kennesaw State University's  Jeff Cooper.
