The Dabney!

Placeholder

We snagged an impossible-to-get reservation at uber-hot restaurant The Dabney in historic Blagden Alley near the Convention Center. Bon Appetit magazine recently named it one of the top 50 new restaurants in the US. They change the menu every day, concentrating on locally grown vegetables delivered from the farm that morning and never refrigerated, plus seafood and a few meats. Veggies are grilled over a fire (above) and, since much of the menu is small plates, it's easy to try many of the creative offerings. We snapped GM Alex Zinc, who moved to DC from Charlotte, with the chef, Jeremiah Langhorne.

We ordered the heirloom tomato salad and had to take a picture: look at the gorgeous colors. But don't expect to be able to get this, too. Jeremiah is famous for changing his menu every single night.
