Debate Watch Party!

Last night we went to a debate watch party at the Sauf Haus Bier Hall in Dupont Circle. Over 200 entrepreneurs, founders and influencers attended the party, which was hosted by Surprise Ride, a DC e-commerce startup, which designs innovative products for kids to make parenting easier. We snapped its founders, Rosy and Donna Khalife, with the event's organizer, SilverStrategy’s Tara Chantal Silver, and Wiley Ideas’ Erin Wiley.

The event brought together some of the brightest minds in DC's startup community. Partygoers enjoyed nostalgic childhood appetizers like mac & cheese and chicken fingers, and talked about the importance of innovation. A mock election was held; the DC entrepreneurial community voted in Hillary Clinton in a landslide win. She received half the votes, Bernie Sanders received a quarter, Donald Trump received 11%, and the remainder of the pack split the rest. Here, Brllnt's Jason Nellis, Network For Progress’ Jim McBride, and Alqimi's Paras Sharma.

Surprise Ride, which moved into offices at Dupont Circle two months ago, has shipped more than 30,000 boxes to families across the United States since its May 2013 founding by sisters who pitched it on ABC’s Shark Tank. Here, UrbanStems co-founders Jeff Sheely and Ajay Kori flank Vinetta Project’s Amelia Friedman.
