LLS Winter Cocktail!

Before the blizzard cancelled everything, we went to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year Winter Cocktail at Pepco Edison Place Gallery. We celebrated the 2016 MWOY candidates competing this year, and honored the patient heroes, the Boy and Girl of the Year. We snapped MWOY co-chair Cisco's Gary DePreta, LLS Executive Director Beth Gorman and Ria Freydberg, and 2016 MWOY candidate Thayer Clinical Psychology's Christine Thayer.

The MWOY Candidates who raise the most to fight blood cancers in the 10-week campaign will be Man and Woman Of the Year. Here, MWOY Leadership Team members: author Benjamin Rubenstein, IBM's Hap Peden, PwC's Saadiq Luqman, and Dreams For Kids DC Executive Director Glenda Fu.

LLS announced the 22 candidates running for the 2016 title and said they wanted three more candidates for MWOY's 25th anniversary. From the crowd, DLT Solution's Steve Wells volunteered, leaving two open spots. He's flanked by Northwestern Mutual's Jason Tiede, and MWOY Leadership Team members CRGT Inc's Roxana Muzzammel and DLT Solution's David Shapiro.

Last year's MWOY candidates raised an astonishing $1.8M to help patients seeking blood cancer cures. Everyone is excited to see the 2016 MWOY candidates raise even more. Here, Gartner's Jim Tebbenhoff, with Cisco's Wayne Valentine and Will Ash.
