Tuesday night, we headed to 17th Street in Dupont Circle for the 30th Annual 17th Street High-Heeled Race!
The annual race, which started as a bar-crawl between two iconic gay bars, Cobalt and JR's, has become one of the premier DC fall events, always happening the Tuesday before Halloween. We snapped some lovely "ladies" in their glamorous costumes just prior to the start of the race.
SageWater's Scott Seel and friend Allison Shuster join Grey Garden's "Big Edie" and "Little Edie."
GW grad student Steve Bruns with Maddie Morales and his sister, UMD's Jillian Bruns enjoying the people watching along 17th Street.
Many racers and spectators wore extravagant costumes to celebrate the evening. Here, two of Disney's villains, "Cruella de Vil" and "Maleficent," pose together.
Bars and restaurants along the race course welcomed patrons to dine and drink while watching the race. Here, The Nature Conservancy's Rye Finegan joins Save the Children's Jana Spacek and Georgetown Hospital's Devin Gilhuly.
Glover Park Group's Katelyn Gaunt joins the US Senate's Sam Chasin and Marriott's Whitney Howell in enjoying the race.
