The event was part of the National Geographic Explorers Festival, a weeklong event that celebrated the best in science, conservation, exploration and storytelling and introduced the 2017 class of National Geographic Emerging Explorers. Here, NASA’s Laura Stein, National Geographic Emerging Explorer Andrew Stein, who has 15 years’ experience working on human-carnivore conflict throughout East and southern Africa, and filmmaker Katy Daily.

For Friday’s party, National Geographic teamed up with Brightest Young Things to bring an excellent adventure for guests to remember with an after-hours Nat Geo campus takeover featuring specialty cocktails from Duke's Grocery, food trucks, music from Oddisee, Axel F and Herr Metal, games, lightning talks with Nat Geo explorers, bars, exclusive museum access, lasers and even a time-traveling phone booth.
