Hope Affair!

Last night we also went to the American Kidney Fund’s annual gala, The Hope Affair, at the luxurious Mellon Auditorium. It honored individuals who have fought kidney disease with grace and hope. We snapped AKF’s Hero of Hope, Artemeshia Adams, who’s undergone two kidney transplants and leads the charge to help others battling kidney disease. She’s surrounded by Fine Productions’ Mark Feinberg, AKF’s Alice Andors, and her parents Kathleen Hairston and Rodney Adams.

We enjoyed a seated dinner and programming that showcased AKF’s success since it was founded in 1971 to save one patient’s life. It helps people fight kidney disease and lead healthier lives through financial support, education, programs, awareness, and advocacy. Here, Relypsa’s Sylvia Wheeler, Abigail Jenkins and Jennifer Chung, Rep Susan Davis’ scheduler Cynthia Patton, and AKF board member, Johns Hopkins’ Matt Poffenroth.

The theme Sharing the Journey celebrated those who make a difference in the kidney community, such as Sanofi, which produces three important dialysis drugs. Here, its reps Dana Delong, Preston Watts, Karen Madison, and Matt and Rachel Nilson.
