Proskauer's Clemency Project Recognized

Placeholder

Proskauer Rose recently hosted a reception for the National Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Answering the Call for Justice Awards, honoring Congress members and young public officials and lawyers who've shown a commitment to advocating for equal justice. The firm itself was recognized for its pro bono initiatives, particularly on the Clemency Project. An initiative of Deputy AG James Cole, the project gives pro bono assistance to federal prisoners who would likely have received a shorter sentence if they'd been sentenced today. Litigation partner Mark Biros, center, accepted the award on the firm's behalf. He's flanked by the Advancement Project's Jasmyn Richardson, The Root's Danielle Belton, Proskauer's Jessica Childress and NBA YLD chair Leigh Chapman. Other honorees included Rep. William Lacy Clay, Rep. Cedric Richmond, Rep. Bobby Scott, Baltimore Councilman Brandon Scott, the New York Mayor's Office Young Men's Initiative's Ifeoma Ike, and NAACP LDF's Janel George.
