Two American Brokerages Giants in Poaching Lawsuit

Grubb & Ellis parent company BGC Partners is suing rival Avison Young for allegedly conspiring to poach Grubb's DC employees and business while it was working through Chapter 11. The suit also names former Grubb chief executive Mark Rose (pictured), now CEO at Avison Young. BGC claims Rose lured Grubb brokers with incentive packages, the Washington Business Journal reports. BGC also alleges teams from Grubb withheld important information from the bankruptcy court before heading to Avison Young. Avison Young responded to the suit, saying it is without merit, and it will defend itself. The lawsuit was filed in March and is pending. [WBJ]
