Cuba Cues at Covington

Placeholder

As American relations with Cuba start to thaw following President Obama's announcement this week--including increased travel, telecommunications connections and business transactions--some law firms are quickly responding. Covington launched a Cuba Working Group headed by former Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Dr. Arturo Valenzuela, above, and former Deputy USTR John Veroneau. The firm has long advised clients on Cuba sanctions; it'll now also help shape policy changes and advise on new business opportunities. Other members of the group include international trade partners Corinne Goldstein and Kim Strosnider, international arbitration and litigation partner Miguel López Forastier, public policy chair and former Pepsi SVP Dan Bryant, Rep. Howard Berman and Sen. Jon Kyl.
