20 Years of DC Appleseed
The DC Appleseed Center for Law & Justice celebrated two decades of nonprofit work in the District with a gala at the Carnegie Institution for Science. Among the 275 guests were the Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation CEO Calvin Cafritz, former Mayor Anthony Williams, DC Appleseed exec director Walter Smith, molecular biology pioneer Maxine Singer, and Fried Frank of counsel Dan Singer.
President Bill Clinton sent in a filmed tribute. Here, DC Appleseed board chair and Arent Fox government relations practice co-chair Jon Bouker speaks. A panel discussed the changes in DC over the last 20 years, forecasts for the next 20, and honored 20 law firms and companies that help DC Appleseed make positive changes.
