Carfax is investing $5M to expand its HQ in Centreville and plans to create 120 new jobs. The company, which provides information to car buyers, is also investing $10.8M to upgrade its data center operation in Loudoun County. The company has a database of over 15 billion vehicle history records from 92,000 sources and handles over 2.7 million requests for vehicle history information daily. Carfax president Dick Raines says the company has been in Fairfax County for over 20 years, with the majority of employees living in the county. The company has also shown up on “Best Places To Work” lists for several years.
