Hokies and Others Win NASA Contract

NASA Langley

Several Virginia and Maryland universities won a $48 million NASA contract to provide research and other services to Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va. (Hopefully these aren't just jocks who took astronomy thinking it'd be easy.) Virginia Tech, UVA, and the University of Maryland are part of a consortium, also including schools like Georgia Tech, that will provide research in emerging fields and science and engineering education. They'll make available the results and tech developed under the five-year IDIQ. Langley houses NASA's research in global climate change, space exploration, and revolutionizing airplanes and the transportation system. Although this group could possibly just be trying to figure out Twitter.
