The Center for Innovative Technology has written another check to a Virginia startup, this time to CargoSense. New Dominion Angles also invested but the amount was not disclosed. The Reston company developed a big data and analytics product for healthcare logistics providers. The product uses sensors to collect light, temperature, pressure, humidity, shock, and tilt data on pharmaceutical shipments. The whole idea is to cut down on the $35B in annual losses from damage to pharma products during shipping. The company was launched in 2012 and is run by Rich Kilmer.
