Ballston Quarter Signs Punch Bowl Social As First Retail Tenant

When Forest City opens Ballston Quarter in 2018, it will bring nearly 400k SF of new retail to the R-B corridor, and it just signed its first major tenant.

Punch Bowl Social, a restaurant concept featuring a bowling alley, arcade and bar, will open a 25k SF location in the renovated mall.

The Denver-based restaurant chain announced earlier this month it plans to open two DC-area locations, one in Arlington and one in the District.The Ballston venue will include eight bowling lanes, three private karaoke rooms, a bocce court and a 360-degree bar.

Opening in June 2018, Punch Bowl Social will be part of Forest City's $330M renovation of the Ballston Common Mall into an open-air town center, rendered above, featuring a 405-unit residential tower and 389k SF of retail space.

“The Ballston Quarter is poised to become the urban village for Arlington and the surrounding metro area,” Punch Bowl Social CEO Robert Thompson said in a release. “The team behind the project is curating a unique, elevated experience that emphasizes attention to detail and quality offerings. These are the same considerations that drive Punch Bowl Social.”
