The Wizards Behind the Conference Curtains

This year's BOMA Every Building Conference & Expo wouldn't have been possible without sweat equity from host BOMA/Orlando, working tirelessly for over a year. At its booth, we snapped Flagler Development's Wesley Schultz, Wayne Automatic Fire Sprinklers' Sarah Kelly, ThyssenKrupp's Lamar Hobbs, Duke Realty's Katyann Grindle, TRU Management's Edna Trimble, EastGroup Properties' Luci Smith, and Prologis' Debbie Chamberlain. Luci says it was a great team-building exercise, and they got to learn each other's hidden talents. Their advice for next year's city? Clone (or just call) AEP Consultants' Allyson Peters, BOMA/Orlando's exec director. (A cloning machine was probably the only piece of tech we didn't find on the expo floor.)

The Academy Award for next year's BOMA conference host goes to BOMA/Greater Los Angeles, which has already started planning (June 28-30 in Downtown LA). At the affiliate's booth, we snapped BOMA/GLA's Desmond Brown, ABM's Ron Wendel-Smith, Cushman & Wakefield's Cybele Thompson, BOMA/GLA's Latrice Lawson and Martha Cox-Nitikman, and HSG's Micheal Prestridge. Not only is it hosting the conference, but it's also celebrating its 100th birthday. Some early details: it'll be held at the LA Convention Center, folks will be staying at the JW Marriott, and the opening party will be held at the Los Angeles Center Studios (films shot there include Anchorman and Austin Powers). And the big BOMAPAC raffle: a trip to the Hollywood sign, which isn't normally open the public, Cybele tells us.
