EagleBank CEO Ron Paul On His
ULI Lifetime Achievement Award

Bisnow: It was just announced that you will be receiving the Washington chapter of the Urban Land Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award. What does it mean to you to win an award most recently won by the likes of Oliver Carr and Ted Lerner?

Ron Paul: I was extremely humbled when I was asked to receive the award, and when I was given the list of previous honorees, I was totally blown away. I grew up looking at them and watching them and aspired to achieve slightly what they’ve accomplished, and to be put in that company is an incredible feeling.

Bisnow: Is there one thing in your career you point to as your proudest accomplishment?

Paul: The thing I’m most proud about is the relationships I’ve built over the years. I’ve been very fortunate to have extraordinary relationships not only in the bank and my real estate company, but in the community.

You know, I've had two kidney transplants. One was donated by my brother, and the other was donated by the CFO of my real estate company. You talk about relationships, that’s the ultimate relationship. It’s just the importance of relationships. That to me is what I take away from all this.
