Walgreens To Shutter 600 Stores In

The U.S., Starting In The Spring

After receiving regulatory approval in September to acquire 1,932 Rite-Aid stores, Walgreens plans to shutter 600 stores over 18 months, starting this spring. Many of the closures will be Rite-Aid stores, or Walgreens locations located within a mile of another Walgreens or Rite-Aid. The company plans to rebrand all remaining Rite-Aid stores as Walgreens.
