Valor Hopes to Win Over Spring Valley Community Members With Mixed-Use Bid

Valor Development has chosen to move forward with a planned-unit development of 250 units at AU Park/Spring Valley, putting more apartments at the site of the former Superfresh grocery store.

Valor and architect BKV Group were weighing a by-right development with up to 200 units for the site at 4330 48th St NW. Valor thinks construction could start in three or four years after going through a planned unit development process with the city and would be completed in about two years, according to The Eagle.

The application includes two five-story buildings with ground-level townhouse-style homes and penthouse units that are set back from the rest of the building. Valor is courting chains in hopes of bringing a grocery store back to the neighborhood. Residents have previously expressed concerns about further urbanization and the effect on property values[Eagle]
