The Crummell School In Ivy City Will Be Redeveloped Into One Of These Three Proposals

The Ivy City neighborhood is full of activity, with the Douglas Development's Hecht Warehouse and NewCityDC projects, and now the redevelopment of the 108k SF Crummell School site is beginning to come into focus.

The DC government released an RFP in April and has narrowed it down to three proposals, UrbanTurf reports.

The first proposal, from EmpowerDC, WC Smith and City First Enterprises, would have a 100% affordable housing residential component, a community center, a health clinic and a childcare center.

The second proposal, from Trammell Crow, Victory Housing and CSG Urban Partners, would turn the school into a 20k SF YMCA and include 12k SF of senior affordable housing in the first phase. The second phase would be a 230-unit apartment building with 14k SF of retail.

The final proposal, from StonebridgeCarras and Jarvis Co, would turn the school into a community center, surrounded by apartments atop townhouses, a 5k SF restaurant and other commercial spaces. [UT]
