The six-week demolition of the Hine Junior High School redevelopment will begin later this month, after hazardous materials are removed from the site. Once demo is complete, excavation can start, followed by vertical construction, putting the project on schedule for a June 2017 delivery. The mixed-use development was at a standstill for years because a group of neighbors were challenging the Eastbanc project, UrbanTurf reports. However, the redevelopment got the green light earlier this year when the DC Court of Appeals denied a rehearing.
