Comstock Partners, a developer with major mixed-use projects in Reston and Ashburn, is launching another town center development along the Silver Line corridor.

The developer reached a deal with Herndon to build a 4.7-acre mixed-use development at the intersection of Elden and Center streets in the center of the Fairfax County town.

The development is planned to include 281 residential apartments, 18K SF of retail, an 18K SF arts center and a 761-space parking garage. Comstock plans to break ground in 2019 and deliver the project in 2021.

Herndon will hold a town hall on Oct. 12 to discuss the development and a public hearing on Oct. 24, where a vote is expected.

"Comstock is committed to creating a vibrant cultural arts district and community open spaces together with high-quality residences, exciting retail spaces and an accessible structured parking facility," Comstock CEO Chris Clemente said in a release.

Comstock is the developer behind Loudoun Station in Ashburn, where it is planning Phase 2, and the 1.5M SF Reston Station. Both of those developments sit next to future stops of the Silver Line, while the Herndon project would be built about two miles north of the line.
