Yesterday in Crystal City
Yesterday, we snapped Vornado/Charles E Smith president Mitchell Schear in his office overlooking Crystal City as he spends every waking minute executing plans to transform that submarket into Washington's newest tech hub. (At least when he's not in his cycling gear in a spinning class. And he needs to stay fit, because he has been pressed into service as one of the marquee stars at our May 7 Washington Real Estate Summit. More info.)
As we reported previously, Vornado has contributed $10M to a $50M tech fund that is hauling in entrepreneurs left and right, most recently even from Tennessee to relocate to newly designed creative office down the block.
We walked over and snapped Paul Singh, a spectacularly successful venture capitalist, who is running the fund and looking to invest a quarter-million to a million dollars per firm to bring tech companies to Crystal City.
