Plan for Historic Chapman Stables

Placeholder

Developers Four Points and John Sunter are planning a 120-unit project for the Chapman Stables at 57 N St NW in Truxton Circle. The developers, with the help of Studio 27 Architecture, would add a third floor to the two-story warehouse building (above) and a five-story addition on the empty lot behind it. Underneath the new building would be a one-story parking garage with 60 spaces, and the units are planned as small studios, one-bedrooms and some two-bedroom units, reported DC Urban Turf. The structure is a historic landmark (built in stages between 1906 and 1916); the next step is to file plans with the Historic Review Board in late April. [UT]
