This morning, we snapped DC Deputy Mayor for Economic Development Victor Hoskins weighing in on the Burnham Place at Union Stationdevelopment at a DCBIA event. He says the 3M SF, $1.5B project is important to accommodatethe capacity of new residents coming to DC. Deputy Mayor Hoskins adds that DC should look to the success of train/subway hubs in Europe (citing London and Madrid) as models for Union Station's rebirth, noting that many stations in Europe are more pleasant than those cities' airports.

Before the event, we ran into Property Group Partners' Sean Cahill (right, with Skanska's Bill Brennan), who gave us an update on his firm's 1.2M Capitol Crossing project (which will be built over I-395): PGP hopes to have approvals for all designs by the end of 2013.
