110-Unit Mixed-Use Building Could be Next for Shaw

An old factory in Shaw could be redeveloped by-right. Across Witberger Street NW from WeWork Wonder Bread—Bisnow's DC HQ, if you didn't know—Monument Realty is eyeing a 110-unit, mixed-use development that could be another spur in Shaw's transformation. Included in the project: 8k SF of ground-floor retail and 50 parking spaces, according to UrbanTurf. The area could already be zoned for the development, making it a potentially quick turnaround from "nascent" project to construction. Either way, as Shaw residents can attest, some of that ground-floor retail needs to be open for lunch. [UT]
