The ever-changing retail landscape was the big story for 2013, says Colliers AVP Sherman Scott (snapped with colleague Cindy Dorland). And the continuing influx of American and European retailers is something he's keeping an eye out for in 2014, especially the growth of luxury retail and fast fashion. While Zara and H&M are already here, “I wonder when Uniqlo will come?” he asks. (After buying an expensive handbag, a $30 cashmere v-neck sweater is more welcoming to the wallet.) A Colliers study in the fall showed year-over-year asking rent increases of 33.3% and 40% for Robson Street and Alberni Street, respectively.
