Strike Hurt, but Outlook Positive

Vancouver

Demand for Metro Vancouver industrial space was hit hard by the Port Metro Vancouver strike earlier this year, which disrupted the flow of goods in and out of B.C. And with another strike looming, CBRE VP Chris MacCauley says 3PL tenants are worried about the impact on their business, not whether to renew leases or expand facilities. Last year, over 600k SF of new large bay facilities were absorbed, he says. This year, we're at 200k SF, but Chris reckons this will create pent-up demand and a busy Q4.
