As most of you know, Scarpetta’s is out and Chase Hospitality Group is in at the Thompson Hotel on Bathurst (above, its rooftop bar). Plans are to open a new French-inspired restaurant called Colette Grand Café and Bakery there. Executive chef Michael Steh is overseeing the menus—geared primarily toward breakfast and lunch for people on the go with seating for 80 to 100 people. Spokesperson Jocelyn Black says it's aiming for a launch in mid June. Toronto-based Chase Hospitality Group opened a restaurant in the Dineen Building on Temperance Street a year ago, and Jocelyn says it's been operating at max capacity there. The objective with the Thompson project is to offer something a bit more accessible in the trendy King Street West area.
