Concert Infrastructure is now sole owner of the Ontario Provincial Police Modernization project and its company, Shield Infrastructure Partnership. The Vancouver developer acquired the remaining 50% stake in the venture, held by HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions. Completed in 2012, the project entailed construction of new OPP facilities in 16 communities, including a regional HQ in Orillia (above). All of the facilities—detachments, regional HQs and forensic identification units—are LEED-certified and publicly owned assets. Concert has refinanced the project’s long-term bank debt via the issuance of a "green bond," part of a provincial program supporting sustainable infrastructure projects.
