171EASTLIBERTYLOCATION

Last week, wereported the upcoming public meetingabout 171 East Liberty. Lifetime Developments VP Brian Brown told us that getting neighbourhood feedback on the proposed project(32-storey retail, office, and residential development adjacent to Liberty Market) is its main focus. But it's not all negative: City of Toronto community plannerGraig Uens says feedback shouldn'tbe skewed that way, especially from the citys position. And Liberty Village Residents' Association'sTodd Hofley is also positive, calling it anecessary projectfor the residential-dominated area. In his view, the developer has a track record of being a good neighbour" (it must make some tasty brownies).Lifetime Developments, Todd says, makes conscious decisions in who they rent to, not just getting the most it can for a space.
