The full court press by Porter Airlines to have the island airport extended to accommodate new CS100 jet aircrafts is on. The company released an iFusion Research poll yesterday showing that two-thirds of the 19,500 Torontonians polled say they support plans to fly the jets out of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. The mayor has come out in favour of it, while councilors like Adam Vaughan and potential 2014 mayor candidate Olivia Chow have been vocal in their opposition. Earlier this month,Porter unveiled plans to expand its list of destinations across North America, into places like Vancouver, LA, Calgary, and Miami.
