Growth for the company is in a “conversion proposition for existing branded properties” like this one or “independent hotels looking to affiliate with an international brand and the reach that implies,” John adds. The former Metropolitan, with its mix of business traveler accessing the financial district and leisure traveler looking to access downtown shopping, entertainment and restaurants made the acquisition a strategic fit, John adds. The hotel features 13k SF of meeting and banquet facilities and 18 meeting rooms, as well as a 3,500 SF ballroom.
