Colliers International's Etobicoke office baseball team, "Foul Balls," battled valiantly in last Thursday's Dream World Series, a co-ed slo-pitch tourney organized by Dream Office Management for the GTA broker community. CBRE's squad proved too powerful, defeating the Colliers team, before going on to win it all. "They always win," says Colliers senior sales rep Chris Burans (bottom right with teammates, clockwise from top left: Myles Kenny, Curtis Darling, Michael Law, Chris Luxton, Bill Robinson, Bill Blackburn, Joel Apostolon, Michael Betsalel, Adam Stevenson, Meghan McGarrell, Bobbi Forbes and Marc Kirshenbaum).

The GTA West office market gained velocity in Q2 after a weak start to the year, Chris tells us, noting that the Airport Corporate Centre node in particular has seen a "tremendous amount" of sublease space come onto the market, ranging from 10k SF to 90k SF. Nearly every space has had offers, he says, including from two marketing firms and a well-known Toronto homebuilder. This activity headed off concerns about a potentially softening market, Chris says, adding he expects the majority of that sublease space to be absorbed in the second half of the year.
