  Sarah King is Senior Vice President of Sustainability at Kilroy Realty, working to advance the sustainability performance of all new and existing buildings in the Kilroy portfolio. She leads the sustainability team and its efforts on operational & embodied carbon, energy efficiency, renewable energy, health & wellness, water use & waste reductions, and positive social impact. Sarah has been working in the sustainability field for over 20 years. Prior to joining Kilroy, she held sustainability roles at Skanska USA Commercial Development and DuPont. She has also worked for several NGOs, including Climate Mayors and the Environmental Law Institute. She earned a BA in economics from Carleton College and an MBA from The George Washington University School of Business. Sarah holds LEED Green Associate, Fitwel Ambassador, and WELL AP credentials. She volunteers on the Net Impact Advisory Board at the University of Washington Foster School of Business and sits on the Advisory Board of the Carbon Leadership Forum. Sarah is an Aspen Institute Catto Fellow.

  Jessyn Farrell

  Jessyn Farrell, J.D., is a leader in building public consensus on difficult issues related to the environment, housing, transportation, and the economy. A long-time environmental advocate, Jessyn’s career has spanned the public, private, non-profit, and philanthropic sectors as a state legislator from the 46th District, Executive Director of Transportation Choices and most recently as the Director of the Office of Sustainability and Environment (OSE) for the City of Seattle. As a legislator, Jessyn passed ground- breaking legislation on oil-by-rail safety, affordable housing near transit centers, education supports for low-income and homeless youth, protections for pregnant workers and restrictions to cell-phone use while driving. As Director of OSE, Jessyn leads efforts to reduce climate pollution and ensure a clean and healthy environment for all residents of Seattle. She has three kids, a dog, two cats and is working on her first book.

  Anita Jeerage

  Anita is responsible for shaping and driving Unico’s sustainability and ESG philosophy, goals, and strategy. In her role, she partners closely with Unico’s Investments and Asset Management teams to integrate ESG practices within due diligence and portfolio management processes. She also leads the Sustainability department, which supports property management, engineering, and development teams in implementing high-performance building strategies related to energy and water efficiency, waste management, low-carbon transportation, and indoor air quality. The Sustainability department also manages compliance with City & State building performance standards related to energy efficiency and decarbonization. Anita brings more than fifteen years of green building consulting and project management experience to Unico.

  Chris Olmsted

  As Director of Development for US West, Chris spearheads the development of cutting-edge low-carbon district energy systems across the western United States. With over a decade of experience, he excels in identifying, quantifying, and solving complex problems in the built environment. His expertise spans high-rise residential, healthcare, laboratories, universities, data centers, and government facilities. Chris has earned credentials as a Certified Energy Manager, Certified Measurement and Verification Professional, Building Energy Assessment Professional, and received a Certificate in Life Science and Biotechnology from MIT. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University. Creative Energy develops, owns, and operates district energy systems to facilitate long-term renewable energy partnerships. The First Hill Initiative in Seattle will dramatically reduce neighborhood carbon emissions. Partners on this project include Providence Swedish, Westbank, and other neighborhood facilities. Creative Energy funds community energy developments at city-scale ranging from $10M to $250M+. Thier projects emphasize urban "place-making", with energy solutions that redefine public spaces to promote better urban design, to enhance quality of life, and to generate new social, cultural and economic opportunities. The residential and institutional developments connected to these systems get a massive leap forward toward a zero-carbon future, while enjoying reduced construction costs, energy code compliance, long-term energy cost certainty, and simplified operations.

  Alexandra Kleeman

  Alexandra has a versatile real estate and environmental practice that provides public and private clients with transactional and litigation support on real estate, environmental, and regulatory matters, including disposition and acquisition of contaminated sites, redevelopment and cleanup of contaminated properties, resolution of cleanup liability disputes, and insurance recovery for environmental liabilities. Clients seek Alexandra’s counsel to review potential environmental issues associated with property acquisitions and leases, manage redevelopment and regulatory closure of contaminated sites, coordinate with environmental consultants, and pursue cost recovery actions. Alexandra also has extensive experience with the investigation and remediation of complex contaminated sites arising under CERCLA and MTCA and provides regulatory guidance as well. She has advised potentially liable parties and stakeholders on issues including investigation strategies, agency coordination, allocation of past and future cost liabilities, and navigating historic insurance coverage issues. She also works with clients to navigate the resolution of natural resource damage assessments under state and federal law.

  Jordan Selig

  After graduating from Columbia University, Jordan started her career in Berlin, Germany, where she ecologically redeveloped prewar buildings. During that time, she started to see how her passion for sustainability could play a role in the future of real estate. In 2013, Jordan returned to Seattle with the mission to join Martin Selig Real Estate (MSRE) and continue to build on decades of innovation. Jordan now acts as MSRE’s Executive Vice President and has overseen the development of over 1.5 million square feet of space so far, including MSRE’s first multifamily property, The Modern – a project she oversaw from vision to execution. To diversify her impact in the Seattle region and beyond, in 2018 Jordan started J. Selig Real Estate (JSRE). The company is developing market-rate multifamily buildings that aim to deliver above-average yields to investors with properties that are a step above the competition in terms of architecture, design, management, and sustainability. Jordan is deeply involved in the Seattle community and passionate about initiatives that enhance Seattle’s built environment and quality of life. She is a board member of the Seattle 2030 District, an organization that aims to dramatically reduce the environmental impacts of building construction and operations. She is also a board member for the Runstad Center for Real Estate at the University of Washington, and a member of the Downtown Seattle Association (DSA) Policy Committee. Aside from her professional endeavors, Jordan is a wife and mom of two. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, yoga, cooking and travel. She is fluent in German & Swedish.

  David Leon

  David has participated in the development of over 1,900 units of residential housing throughout the Puget Sound region, including townhomes, single- family homes, and mixed-use apartment buildings. He has experience as an analyst, a project manager, and an acquisitions manager for development companies including Intracorp Real Estate, Taylor Morrison, and StoryBuilt. Prior to working in real estate development, David was a practicing attorney for the City of New York, and a human resources manager at Eddie Bauer and the Port of Seattle. He holds a master's degree in real estate from the University of Washington, a law degree from the University of Miami, and a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley. David enjoys travel; he has visited 20 different countries and 45 U.S. states. He also enjoys rowing, cross-country skiing, and bike rides with friends and family.

  Caroline Traube

  Caroline is a Principal and Director of Zero+ Planning at McKinstry, leading a team of mechanical, electrical, and building performance engineers delivering decarbonization predesign, roadmapping, and district energy analyses. Before joining McKinstry in 2011, Caroline worked for Rocky Mountain Institute, a non-profit striving to transform global energy use to clean, prosperous, and low-carbon platforms. With undergraduate and master’s degrees in engineering from Stanford University, Caroline appreciates data-driven visuals and compelling analysis that enable stakeholders across the building life cycle to make informed decisions about our built environment. Caroline is committed to McKinstry’s vision of building a thriving planet together and is engaged in policy development and mentoring programs. Most recently, she served on the Washington State Building Code Council and volunteered as a mentor with the Washington Employers for Racial Equity leadership program.

  Charlie Gronek

  Charlie provides expertise in sustainable project delivery and building systems across all of Seneca Group’s projects. Charlie guides clients and teams to ensure appropriate sustainability goals are established early in the project and delivered through the design and construction process. He is currently managing sustainability integration for numerous large-scale ground-up and tenant improvement developments across the country. Prior to joining Seneca Group, Charlie led the Northwest high-performance design team for a global engineering firm, practicing mechanical engineering focused on innovative and sustainable projects. Charlie earned his bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Washington and California and a LEED Accredited Professional.
