  Ron Nirenberg

  Ron Nirenberg is the mayor of San Antonio, one of the nation’s fastest growing cities with the 7th largest population in the United States. He was raised in Austin, Texas, and attended college in San Antonio. Nirenberg is the son of an immigrant from Southeast Asia and the grandson of immigrants from Eastern Europe who passed through Ellis Island. Through his personal experiences, Mayor Nirenberg developed a core commitment to civic participation and the universal values of liberty, justice, and equal opportunity for every person. He is focused on making key infrastructure investments necessary to accommodate the growth of San Antonio, which is expected to nearly double in population by 2040. This forward-looking approach drives the mayor’s vision of a compassionate community with a globally competitive economy. Mayor Nirenberg was re-elected to a second term on June 8, 2019. He was first elected to represent District 8 on the San Antonio City Council in 2013. During his two terms, he championed smart city and regional planning, inclusive economic development, environmental stewardship, fiscal responsibility and governmental accountability. Under his leadership as mayor, the city’s budget has been adopted with a focus on equity to ensure that all parts of the city have the same level of services and infrastructure. Mayor Nirenberg is the Chairman of Sister Cities International, a nonpartisan organization that connects cities across the globe through civic, educational and cultural exchanges. The mayor continues to promote San Antonio as a premier 21st century city open for business, trade, and investment, attracting top talent and innovation companies. In 2018, the United States Conference of Mayors recognized Mayor Nirenberg with the Small Business Advocate award for his efforts to encourage entrepreneurism. He believes that success is best achieved by partnerships. As councilman, Nirenberg brought together a public-private coalition to save the world-renowned Bracken Bat Cave, the largest colony of bats in the world. Prior to his public service, Nirenberg was the founder of two small-businesses, worked as the general manager of KRTU-FM San Antonio, and as a program director for the Annenberg Public Policy Center where he developed and directed award-winning civic engagement programs. Mayor Nirenberg graduated summa cum laude from Trinity University and received a Master’s Degree in Communication magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife, First Lady Erika Prosper, are the proud parents of their son, Jonah.

  Harry Adams is the Managing Partner of McCombs Properties, the Real Estate and Development arm of the McCombs family offices, McCombs Enterprises. As a real estate portfolio manager, developer, and home building executive, Mr. Adams has 18 years of real estate, development, and home building experience with a focus on luxury brands, master planned communities, and niche communities. His experience includes market level general management with annual revenues in excess of $100M, sales and project management, land planning and development, and product development and purchasing. Before joining the McCombs Enterprise team, he served twelve years leading large home building organizations, holding the roles of Division President, Vice President Custom Division & Purchasing, Director of Supply Management, Area Manager, and Project Manager, with nationwide companies such as Toll Brothers, Newmark Homes, and Sitterle Homes. Prior to home building and after his graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Mr. Adams served for six years of active duty as a Light Infantry Officer. He held positions of platoon leader and operations officer, at the 25 th Light Infantry Division and 82 nd Airborne Division, and was Air Assault, Airborne, Pathfinder, Jumpmaster and Ranger qualified. Mr. Adams is a full member of the Urban Land Institute, sits on the National Community Development Product Council, and participates on a number of Boards in the San Antonio area.

  Michael Lynd, Jr.

  Michael is the CEO of Kairoi Residential providing strategic direction and leadership across the entire corporate platform. He is a co-founder of the acquisitions and development partnerships in 2003 and 2006 respectively, as well as a founding partner of Kairoi. Michael has been deeply involved in the multifamily business as an owner and operator since 1995. His 23 years of experience make him an expert in the fields of multifamily management, investment, and development. Michael has invested in, developed, and disposed of more than $4.3 billion of real estate over the past 15 years. He has a valuable network of relationships with institutional joint venture partners, lenders and property owners which he has developed over his career. Michael graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance. He is the Chairman of the Board for Alamo Regional Mobility Authority as appointed by the Governor. In connection with his role as Chairman, Michael serves on the Alamo Area MPO Transportation Policy Board and in the San Antonio Mobility Coalition. He also serves on the Advisory Board for The Bank of San Antonio and The Bank of Austin. Michael plays a large role in the San Antonio business community as well having previously held the position of Vice Chairman and currently serving on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. When Michael isn’t busy at the office or in the San Antonio community, he enjoys being on the lake, skiing, traveling, and listening to live music.'

  Mr. Sanders has a long career in real estate development, investments, dispositions, site selection, entitlement, and management. He currently serves as a managing member of Cardinal MF LLC, the developer of the 360-unit Park at Marketplace in Kyle, TX. He is also the general partner of the 998-unit University Village project in San Antonio, TX. Mr. Sanders is the general partner of the University Village project, a 116-acre mixed-use development in San Antonio. Prior to founding Cardinal, Mr. Sanders was responsible for all investments, dispositions, and asset management for the Texas region of Stratford Land, the largest land investment fund in the U.S. In his position at Stratford, Mr. Sanders managed sourcing and underwriting of all land acquisitions in Texas in addition to handling property sales and the entitlement process. Before Stratford, Mr. Sanders was a partner with Jones Lang LaSalle/Staubach Co. In his eight years at JLL/Staubach, Mr. Sanders was lead broker on over $325 million in transactions. Mr. Sanders has been awarded the Austin Business Journal’s “Transaction of the Year” twice, for the development of the Goodwill Headquarters and for the relocation and re-development of Concordia University. He was awarded Broker of the Year in San Antonio for the relocation of the San Antonio Water System Headquarters. Major clients have included Apple, Electronic Arts, The Hartford, Cirrus Logic, The State of Texas, UTSA, Toyota and The University of Texas Medical Branch. He has practiced in multiple markets including Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, and Tennessee.

  As Chief Executive Officer of Metropolitan Contracting Company, Jane brings over 25 years of construction experience. She is responsible for strategic planning, employee and leadership development, operations, and profitability. She oversees all hiring decisions, project selection and ensures that client expectations are being satisfied and all projects are completed safely and in a timely manner. Jane guides her team in striving to help clients understand each phase of the development and construction process. In this role, she serves as a communicator and educator whose honesty and integrity results in long- term relationships with repeat clients. The open dialogue also helps ensure that clients feel they are being treated fairly and respectfully , which is one of Jane’s primary professional goals. Jane is a member of the Real Estate Council of San Antonio, Associated Builders and Contractors, and serves on the Programs Committee for CREW.

  Robin joined Sonder in 2018 as the General Manager for San Antonio, responsible for overseeing the launch and operations of the San Antonio market. Prior to Sonder, Robin spent 5 years at Rackspace in several roles, including Director of Online Sales and Chief of Staff to the SVP of Global Technical Operations. Robin’s career encompasses a wide variety of roles: management consulting, university corporate relations, nonprofit operations, and government consulting. Her focus is on general management and operations, and she is passionate about process improvement and knowledge management initiatives. Robin has an undergraduate degree in Business from Georgetown University and earned her MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. When she’s not working to provide “Hospitality Everywhere” to Sonder guests, she can be found spending time enjoying San Antonio with her husband and two young children.

  Michele Boggs

  Michele Boggs joined the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation (SAEDF) in June 2011. As leader of the Business Development team, Boggs recruits new businesses and retains existing businesses in San Antonio through the Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Program, designed to assist local companies stay and grow. Since 2011, she has assisted 55 companies to locate or expand in San Antonio, securing more than 12,000 jobs for San Antonians. She is also the SAEDF lead for the recruitment and retention of Life Science companies in San Antonio and is on the board of BioMed SA. Prior to joining SAEDF, Michele worked as a Research Analyst for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. There she was a contributing author and researcher on various studies including the Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST) and the Texas in Focus series, which analyzed factors affecting the state of Texas’ economy and economic development issues unique to the various regions of the state. Michele holds a Master of Arts Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas State University.

  Bethany Babcock

  Bethany Babcock has worked in property management, leasing and investment sales for over fifteen years. Bethany founded Foresite Real Estate in 2014. In 2018 she was named by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of the “40 under 40”. Bethany is one of very few brokers in San Antonio to have been named one of the top 10 Brokers by Costar in the categories of both leasing and investment sales. Bethany was a guest speaker for the 2018 South Texas CCIM Symposium and she guest lectures for the Real Estate Finance Department at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Bethany graduated from UTSA double majoring in International Business and Finance. She went on to earn her MBA with a concentration in Finance from Texas A&M University – San Antonio. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, a board member for Adult and Teen Challenge of Texas and is a mother of three. Having lived in Chile for more than ten years, Bethany is also fluent in Spanish.

  Shea Johnson, has over 20 years of business development, communication, marketing, and project management experience in both the private and public sectors. Holding a BS in Business Administration from George Mason University, Shea is a 10-year U.S. Navy veteran and has dedicated years of his career to roles in the Pentagon, on Capitol Hill, and for the White House. In his position of Director of Business Development, Shea will apply his extensive experience with Business Development, A/E/C Industry and Healthcare Legislation, and Healthcare Construction including Design-Build, Construction Manager-at Risk (CMAR) and Public-Private Partnership (P3) projects. Shea is active in the community serving on the Board of Directors for Crosspoint Inc., President-Elect for the Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects (I-LinCP) San Antonio Chapter, and Placemaking Council for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) San Antonio Chapter.
