  Brian is responsible for developing Hines’ Ireland projects. He established the Hines platform in Ireland which currently has more than €2.3 billion of retail, office and residential assets under management, in addition to a major development pipeline which includes an additional €500 million of retail development and over 4,000 residential units. He re-joined the firm in 2011 having previously worked with Hines in Russia in the 1990's. In between, he ran his own successful development management and investment advisory firm based in Dublin which focused on large urban regeneration, university campus developments and housing PPP projects. Brian is a graduate of Architecture from the Dublin Institute of Technology and obtained an MBA at the University of Chicago. He is a trustee of ULI Europe, a National Council Member for Ireland and chairs the Irish Architecture Foundation.

  Friedrich Georg Warmbold is Head of Investment Management Residential for Europe at Union Investment Real Estate, a department which was newly established in 2021. In this role, he leads a team of four specialised residential investment managers who are responsible for residential acquisitions and sales in Europe (ex DACH), working in close cooperation with Union`s local offices in London and Paris. Friedrich has been working for Union Investment since October 2014. After starting as a Junior Investment Manager responsible for office transactions in Ireland and Spain, he handed over market responsibility for Spain in 2017 and was responsible for the UK and Ireland as a Senior Investment Manager until 2021.

  In 2008, I qualified as an architect graduating from University College Dublin. I worked in Dublin, Brussels, and New York as an architect on a range of projects from housing to institutional schemes, most notably the University of Greenwich School of Architecture and Construction for the University of Greenwich, London for Heneghan Peng architects. In 2013, I completed a master’s in business administration at Trinity College Dublin and following that worked for Salesforce as a solution engineer covering their UK SMB business, a fortune 500 CRM company in the tech sector. Following that, I now work at our family residential property development business Winterbrook who have completed housing recently in Westminster Wood, Foxrock, Sika Woods, Enniskerry and currently delivering 94 apartments in Dalkey, Co. Dublin. I have recently become a member on the committee for the Irish Home Builders Association.

  I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Trinity College Dublin, where my primary research areas are housing markets, urban economics, and economic history. I am particularly interested in long-run housing markets, in order to better understand current housing experiences such as rapidly increasing housing costs in many high-income cities. In addition, I am a Research Associate at the Spatial Economics Research Centre in LSE and author of the Daft.ie Reports on Ireland’s sale and rental housing markets. I am also a Board member of the HEA, Honorary Secretary of SSISI, and on the organising committee of DEW. I am an active contributor to the policy debate, especially on the topic housing in Ireland. Most of the articles I publish either in my weekly column for the Sunday Independent or as commentaries for the Daft.ie Report are subsequently archived here.   Mick has over 22 years’ experience of working in the built environment sector between Dublin and London and is a qualified Town Planner and Urban Designer. Mick began his career working in the regeneration team for the London Borough of Haringey before joining the Greater London Authority to work for the Mayor of London in 2007. During this time Mick worked on multiple large-scale regeneration projects including the London 2012 Olympic Games and the regeneration of both Croydon and Tottenham. Mick then spent 5 years working for a Mayoral Development Corporation including setting up the Corporation and overseeing plans to deliver 25,000 new homes and a new HS2 rail station at Old Oak and Park Royal (OPDC). Mick left his role as Interim Chief Executive of OPDC in 2019 to return to Ireland where he worked as Director for Planning and Transport for South Dublin County Council. In this role Mick led the Council’s regeneration work at Clonburris, Tallaght, Adamstown and City Edge and he set up and oversaw the Council’s ambitious Cycle South Dublin Programme to deliver significant improvements in South Dublin’s transport network.

  Patrick Phelan is the Managing Director of Ballymore in Ireland – a real estate professional with broad experience in real estate in the UK, Ireland and the US, acquired over a twenty-five year career.
