Daimian Hines
Daimian S. Hines AIA, NOMA, is a visionary design architect and an emerging critical voice in the design
community. who undertakes projects and pursuits that enhance communities and cultures. Upon his
return from international practice in Southeast Asia, Daimian founded Hines Architecture + Design
(HINESAD). Since its inception, he endeavored to challenge the form and focus of a traditional minority
firm by envisioning and building a mission-driven global practice. HINESAD found early success by
winning an international commission to design the government of Jamaica new houses of parliament.
As the founding Principal, Daimian provides exceptional leadership and expertise. He is known for his
innovation, meticulous approach to creative designs and technical resolutions along with dedication to
delivering client-focused outcomes. He has over two decades of experience delivering complex projects.
Daimian’s expertise spans conceptualization, project planning services, master planning, feasibility
assessments, design, management, and project delivery.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Daimian actively contributes to his community. He serves on the City
of Houston Planning Commission and holds leadership roles, including President of the Board at Row
House Community Development Corporation (RHCDC) and Treasurer for the Houston Freedmen’s Town
Conservancy. Daimian is also a board member of the Astrodome Conservancy and has served on the
Board of Governors of the Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning, Rice Design Alliance, and
the Houston Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects.
Daimian holds both a Master of Architecture (Honors) and Bachelor of Science (Distinction), Architecture
degrees from the Taubman College of Architecture, University of Michigan.
He is licensed to practice architecture in Texas, Illinois, and Michigan with pending licensure in Jamaica.
Additionally, Daimian is also a member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Organization
of Minority Architects, Texas Society of Architects and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
