  Brian Watson is the Founder and CEO of Northstar Commercial Partners (“Northstar”). In this capacity he manages the firm’s overall business, new initiatives, investment strategies and all major investment decisions, as well as sits on the investment committee of all investment activities. Since founding the firm in 2000, Brian has positioned Northstar as a leading multi-faceted, vertically-integrated real estate company. Northstar’s line of business, which is value-add real estate focused on job creation, is currently one of the premier acquirers of vacant and/or value-add properties in markets throughout the United States.   Mayor Herb Atchison

  Herb Atchison was elected Westminster Mayor in November 2013 and then re-elected as Mayor again in November 2017. He was first elected to City Council in 1997 and served two terms before leaving because of term limits. Atchison has previously served as a member/chairman of the city’s Special Permit and Licensing Board for 16 years, and also served as a member of the city’s Planning Commission after his second term on council. Atchison returned to council in 2011. Atchison serves on the Board of Directors for the Westminster Legacy Foundation, the Board of Directors and as an Executive Officer for the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), Chairman of Board of Directors for the North Area Transit Alliance (NATA), the U.S. 36 Mayors County Commissioners Coalition, the Executive Committee for the Metro Mayors Caucus, he also serves on the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District Board of Directors, and serves as a Board of Director's member for the Regional Air Quality Control Board as an appointee of the Governor. He volunteers with the Westminster Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department, and the Westernaires children’s group of Jefferson County. Atchison previously served on the adjunct faculty for ITT Technical College, Colorado State University (CSU) and Colorado Christian University, teaching at several of their campuses, and is a professional project manager and works as an independent consultant to numerous clients in the private and government industries.

  The mayor was elected at large in 2013. He was re-elected in 2015. His current term ends in November of 2017. His parents moved to Broomfield in 1966. After college and spending six years in the oil and gas industry he moved his family back to Broomfield in 1986. He is married to Wendy Ahrens and has three grown daughters, Ashley Luman, Amy Ahrens and Jordon Felker. Our Government is related directly to the U.S. Constitution and we have graciously sworn our allegiance to upholding the guiding principles created by our illustrious forefathers.   Gregg Moss is the President and CEO of the Metro North Chamber of Commerce; a regional organization spanning 12 cities, 4 counties and 6 school districts in Northern Colorado. Since 1959, the Metro North Chamber has played an integral role in fostering business development within the region. Prior to joining the Chamber, Gregg served as Executive Director of Mile Hi Church overseeing a 58 year-old non-profit community that serves more than 180,000 people a year through 12 community-based programs. Gregg is a well-known fixture in the business community because he was an anchor/reporter for 9NEWS for more than two decades, and prior to that he worked for The Denver Business Journal as Associate Publisher. In addition to the work history described above, Gregg has experience as a business-owner, senior level manager and educator. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies, the International Olympic Committee around the world, and he has held several leadership positions at large non-profits in the metro area. Moss moved to Colorado in 1985 from New Orleans, Louisiana where he attended Loyola University with a double-major in Communications and Social Work; he also has an honorary doctorate degree from the Colorado Institute of Art. Moss has received numerous awards for his community involvement and journalistic work. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Colorado Enterprise Fund, the North Area Transit Alliance, Smart Commute Metro North, the DRCOG Advisory Council, the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation and the advisory board of A Precious Child.

  Mile High Development is a veteran of large scale mixed use projects including Colorado Center, a $100 million mixed use project at I-25/Colorado Blvd. in central Denver in conjunction with TIAA-CREF, the world’s largest private pension fund, which launched its first phase in 1986 and completed the second and third of the ultimate six phases in 1999. The project features a 9 screen United Artists Theatre with an IMAX Theatre, and 600,000 square feet of Class A office space in two 12 story towers, and 1600 structured parking spaces. Mile High Development was also the Developer of the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building in downtown Denver, a $200 million, 700,000 square foot Class AA office building developed for the City and County of Denver in 2001/2002. Mile High Development was the Co-Developer of the $100 million Co-Development Project in concert with the Denver Art Museum expansion project, which included the 980 space Cultural Center Garage; the 55 unit Museum Residences condominium/mixed use project that was completed in 2007, and the 165 room ART Hotel which opened in July 2015. Mile High Development was also Co-Developer, with Opus Northwest, of Lakewood City Commons, an $80 million mixed use retail, office/civic and community development, including a new City Hall for the City of Lakewood. Today, Mile High Development is focused on various mixed-use TOD opportunities, including affordable housing projects utilizing LIHTC at existing light rail stations along the southeast I-25 corridor, and the new R line/Aurora light rail corridor, including the Apartments at Yale Station, a 50 unit Senior 9% LIHTC affordable housing project at the Yale light rail station completed in 2011; University Station, a 60 unit Senior 9% affordable housing project located at the University of Denver light rail station completed in February 2014; the 66 unit 9% LIHTC affordable housing project, Garden Court Apartments at Yale Station, which will be completed in June 2016. Mile High Development and Koelbel and Company broke ground in April 2016 on the 112 unit Ash Street Apartments, a 4% LIHTC affordable family/workforce project adjacent to the 9 th and Colorado redevelopment project on the former University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In partnership with Koelbel and Company, Mile High Development was selected by the City of Aurora and the Aurora Urban Renewal Authority in 2015 as the Master Developer of the Regatta Plaza Shopping Center at Nine Mile Station, a 22 acre site which will be redeveloped into a 700,000 sf TOD project beginning in the Fall 2016 and will include a new 80 sf King Soopers; 500 market and affordable rental housing units; an entertainment district featuring restaurants and entertainment retail, and a major office component, all connected by a PED bridge to Nine Mile Station. In 2011, Mr. Thorn was the co-recipient(with Mr. Buz Koelbel)of the inaugural Transit Alliance Leadership Award as Outstanding Leader in the Private Sector. In 2001, Mr. Thorn was named Honorary Dean of the Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver, and is currently serving DU as Executive in Residence. Mr. Thorn received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1967. He is a former Board member of NAIOP, and is a Full member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and a member of the ULI Executive Committee. He is a former Denver Urban Renewal Authority (DURA) Commissioner, and was Chair of Downtown Denver, Inc., in 2002 &2003, and Chair of the Downtown Denver Partnership in 2004.

  Mary Beth Jenkins

  Mary Beth began her commercial real estate career in Houston, Texas in 1980, working for The Woodlands Corporation at the inception of The Woodlands Development, a 23,000 acre master-planned community, in North Houston. She then joined Cadillac Fairview Development Corporation on their 33-block development in Downtown Houston, Houston Center. Mary Beth founded The Laramie Company in 1992, a Denver based commercial real estate brokerage and consulting firm. The Laramie Company is known for bringing a unique skillset of strategic consulting and deal-making to their clients and projects. As the lead real estate consultant and broker for the Downtown Westminster project, Mary Beth assisted the City of Westminster in the land assemblage and purchase of the 108 acre former Westminster Mall site.  Working with City staff, she is now responsible for curating a mix of developments, developers, and key retail tenants on a block-by- block basis, with over 1.7 million square feet of new developments either open or under construction. Projects include affordable housing and market rate multi-family residential, for sale townhome and condominiums, a boutique hotel, office, and key retail tenants; Alamo Drafthouse, Tattered Cover Bookstore, Marczyk Fine Foods.  Most recent projects include the completion of retail consulting and leasing for McGregor Square in Downtown Denver resulting in 100% lease-up during COVID including relocating the Tattered Cover Bookstore along attracting with other top local and national retailers and restaurateurs.  Mary Beth has consulted with numerous cities and developers on new and existing retail and mixed-use projects. City clients have included: Lone Tree, Westminster, Aurora, Parker, and Glendale. Development clients include Brookfield Properties, General Growth Partners, Forest City, Boston Properties Group, Western Development Group, and Portman Properties. Her resort retail experience includes Vail, Snowmass Village and Silverthorne. Additionally, Jenkins spearheaded the movement of outdoor regional retail and lifestyle projects in the Denver Metro area that include, The Orchard Town Center, The Shops at North Creek, Southlands, The Shops at Northfield, and the Westminster Promenade.   Jeff Handlin

  Jeff Handlin founded Oread Capital & Development in 2011. Prior to founding Oread Capital & Development, Mr. Handlin served in executive roles at recognized national homebuilding and real estate development companies including: Founding Partner of Starwood Land Ventures; Officer and National Vice President for M.D.C. Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Richmond American Homes; and Vice President with Taylor Woodrow (currently known as Taylor Morrison). At M.D.C. Holdings, Mr. Handlin managed all acquisitions company-wide, representing over 12,000 residential lots across the U.S. between 2009 and 2011, with acquisition costs over $600 Million. Also while at M.D.C., Mr. Handlin led the acquisition of SDC Homes, at the time the third-largest homebuilder in the Seattle market. Beginning in 2007, prior to his time at M.D.C., Mr. Handlin was a founding partner in Starwood Land Ventures, based in Bradenton, Florida. Mr. Handlin led all Florida acquisitions while at Starwood Land, representing over $100 Million in direct acquisitions, including the acquisition of substantially all the Florida assets of Tousa-Engle Homes from its bankruptcy estate. Upon receiving a J.D. from Duke University, and prior to his work as a land development and homebuilding executive, Mr. Handlin began his legal career at the law firm of Carlton Fields in Tampa, Florida, where he focused on real estate development, finance, and homeowners association law. Mr. Handlin graduated cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Kansas.   Jarvie Worcester joined Trammell Crow Residential in 2016 and serves as the Managing Director for the Mountain States division, overseeing the 2,300 units ($600 million of capitalization) the company has underway. Prior to joining TCR, Jarvie was the Vice President of Development for Real Capital Solutions in Louisville, CO, where he oversaw a $350 million portfolio of multifamily, senior and student housing development investments. Prior to Real Capital Solutions, Jarvie spent 8 years with Vail Resorts Inc. in their resort and hospitality development groups as the Director of Development. While at Vail Resorts, Jarvie was involved in the development of $450 million of resort condo, hotel, retail and resort operations projects.   Sarah Nurmela

  Sarah has 16 years of experience in the public and private sector in the field of urban design and planning, with work throughout the country but with a focus in Colorado and California. At the City of Westminster, she led long range planning and urban design as Principal Planner and Senior Urban Designer, writing and managing award-winning plans including the citywide Comprehensive Plan and Downtown Specific Plan. As a consultant for Dyett & Bhatia Urban and Regional Planners in San Francisco, she led multiple transit-oriented redevelopment and station area plans, citywide comprehensive (general) plans, and community and area-specific outreach processes. Her work has encompassed land use and urban design strategies for major transit centers including San Jose Diridon Station and Santa Clara Station; working with major transit agencies including the California Metropolitan Transportation Commission, Bay Area Rapid Transit, Valley Transportation Authority, Sam Trans, CalTrain, and the California High Speed Rail Authority; and managing and writing multiple downtown and community-wide comprehensive plans. Prior to Dyett & Bhatia, Sarah worked for Goody Clancy & Associates in Boston, Massachusetts and Zimmer Gunsul Frasca in Portland, Oregon in both architecture and urban design. Sarah has a master’s degree in Urban Planning from Harvard University, a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, and certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners.
